Opposition Leader and Arima MP Pennelope Beckles says she is keeping a close watch on the situation in Aripo following recent adverse weather.
In a Facebook post today, the Arima MP said she visited the community at 6:30 am, accompanied by Village Council President Valentine, to assess the extent of the damage.

“The recent adverse weather has significantly affected the community of Aripo,” Beckles said. “I want to assure residents that I, along with Councillor Kerry-Ann Kasmalley, have made the necessary contacts with the Tunapuna Piarco Regional Corporation and the Ministry of Works to assess and address the situation.”
Beckles also noted that she had been in regular contact with the principal of the Aripo RC Primary School to ensure students are supported ahead of the upcoming National Tests.
