A visually impaired man was shot at his home in Marabella on Saturday.
The 61-year-old man of New City Avenue told police he was at his home around 9.30 am when he heard loud explosions and felt a burning sensation to his buttocks.
He tried without success to call the emergency services, then went to West Bayshore and asked a friend to call the police.
The police and ambulance arrived and he was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital. Based on information received, the officers went to New City Avenue where they saw a silver Toyota Aqua with bullet holes to the rear.
The vehicle was wrecked and taken to the police station pending processing.
Officers retrieved six spent 9mm casings together with three rounds of live 9mm ammunition at the scene.
Marabella police are investigating.
