The partially burnt body that was discovered in some bushes in Morvant after fire officers responded to a call about a bush fire on Thursday remained unidentified up to yesterday.
Fire officers from the San Juan Fire Station were alerted around 4.08 am about a bushfire at Cipriani Extension, Morvant, which was said to have started behind a house.
Upon putting out the fire, the fire officers discovered the corpse, which was found lying face-up. Police believe the victim was killed elsewhere and dumped in the area.
Investigators have appealed for the public’s help in identifying the body of the African male. Anyone with information as to the identity of the victim can contact the nearest police station.
