The Caroni Licensing Office has been closed for the rest of the day. Office operations will start again on Friday, according to a statement.
Individuals with appointments do not need reschedule as they will be accommodated. Officials say to complete a transaction; an individual must provide proof of their prior appointment.
The closure comes as heavy rainfall led to flooding around the Caroni area with the Caroni River almost at capacity.
Additionally, individuals are reminded to bring address proof. This proof is a utility bill. The bill must not be older than three months. Accepted forms include a cable bill, phone bill, electricity bill, or water bill. If a customer does not have a utility bill in their name, they must produce a letter from the owner or their national identification.
