The body that was found dumped in the St Ann’s River partially wrapped in black garbage bags has been identified as 29-year-old Yannick Shaquille Warren. Warren, of Belmont, was found dead on Sunday morning.
Police are yet however to determine the circumstances that surrounds Warren’s death that they believe was unnatural. It was reported that at about 11:30 am residents of Fondes Amandes Road saw the body of a man lying on a mattress under a bridge in the area.
When police arrived on the scene and checked they saw the body partially covered in black garbage plastic bags. The body was viewed by a district medical officer and ordered removed from the scene pending an autopsy to determine the actual cause of death.
Investigations are continuing.
