Three years af­ter sur­viv­ing an at­tempt on his life, busi­ness­man Shyam Bal­la, 23, of Sixth Com­pa­ny, In­di­an Walk, was shot dead, while his fa­ther was in­jured at their Princes Town busi­ness on Sun­day.

Po­lice said around 1.30 pm, Bal­la and his fa­ther were at the busi­ness place when two masked gun­men jumped the fence and ac­cost­ed them.

The in­trud­ers opened fire, strik­ing Bal­la sev­er­al times, in­clud­ing in his chest, while his fa­ther was shot on his arm.

A passer­by took them to the health fa­cil­i­ty, where Bal­la was pro­nounced dead.

Po­lice are still try­ing to de­ter­mine a mo­tive.

On Sep­tem­ber 3, 2023, Bal­la was shot and wound­ed at his busi­ness place, S&R Tyre Shop, at Bridal Road, Cunu­pia, forc­ing him to re­lo­cate to Princes Town.
