A 54-year-old con­struc­tion work­er was killed on Tues­day, af­ter a steel sheet fell on him at a work­site in Table­land.

He was iden­ti­fied as Richard Felmin, of Pas­call Street, Guayagua­yare Road, Rio Claro.

Re­ports say Felmin was work­ing at a site in George Vil­lage around 4 pm when the in­ci­dent oc­curred. Po­lice were told that work­ers were in­stalling shoring sheets when an ex­ca­va­tor’s hy­draulic line failed, caus­ing a sheet to fall on him.

He was tak­en to the Rio Claro Health Fa­cil­i­ty and then trans­ferred to San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal. He died on the way to the fa­cil­i­ty.
