Dr. Roshan Paras­ram, Pun­dit Mukram Lloyd Sir­joo and Shankar Bidaisee have been ap­proved by cab­i­net to sit on the Coun­cil of the Med­ical Board.

The an­nounce­ment from the Min­istry of Health comes af­ter the min­istry stat­ed that cab­i­net "had se­ri­ous con­cerns" with re­spect to one of the per­sons who was re­cent­ly rec­om­mend­ed.

The ma­te­r­i­al body re­con­sid­er its nom­i­na­tion. De­spite the con­cerns raised the body main­tained its se­lec­tion.

A state­ment from the Min­istry on Mon­day read, "Con­sis­tent with his statu­to­ry du­ty the Min­is­ter has rec­om­mend­ed the names that were re­ceived of the fol­low­ing nom­i­nat­ed per­sons to the Cab­i­net and Cab­i­net in ac­cor­dance with its du­ty has to­day ap­proved the fol­low­ing per­sons."

i) Dr. Roshan Paras­ram, Chief Med­ical Of­fi­cer; sec­tion 6(1) (a);

ii) Pun­dit Mukram Lloyd Sir­joo; sec­tion 6(1) (d), a per­son nom­i­nat­ed by the In­ter-Re­li­gious Or­gan­i­sa­tion;

iii) Mr. Shankar Bidaisee; sec­tion 6(1) (e), an At­tor­ney at Law nom­i­nat­ed by the Law As­so­ci­a­tion of Trinidad and To­ba­go.
