The T&T Prison Ser­vice has ap­point­ed Car­los Cor­raspe as the Act­ing Com­mis­sion­er of Pris­ons by the Pub­lic Ser­vice Com­mis­sion.

Cor­raspe, who of­fi­cial­ly took on the role on Ju­ly 9 brings over 35 years of ex­ten­sive ser­vice and ex­pe­ri­ence to the po­si­tion. Through­out his ca­reer, he has held var­i­ous roles with­in the Ad­min­is­tra­tive, Op­er­a­tional, and Pro­grammes branch­es of the Prison Ser­vice.

Cor­raspe says he aims to trans­form the Prison Ser­vice in­to a Cor­rec­tions Sys­tem with a stronger fo­cus on pub­lic safe­ty and crime pre­ven­tion through the re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion of of­fend­ers.
