A 31-year-old man suf­fered head in­juries af­ter he was beat­en dur­ing a home in­va­sion in Clax­ton Bay on Wednes­day. Po­lice said around 11.45 pm, a 46-year-old woman, who owns a busi­ness, ar­rived at her Pranz Gar­dens home in her black Kia Sportage. She was ac­cost­ed in the garage by three sus­pects, armed with a firearm and a cut­lass. They forced her in­to her home, where they met the oth­er vic­tim, a 31-year-old man. They struck him sev­er­al times on the head and face with the gun butt and tied the hands of both vic­tims. The ban­dits then ran­sacked the house, leav­ing with cash, jew­ellery, al­co­hol, and cell­phones.

Fyz­abad man robbed

A Fyz­abad busi­ness­man was robbed of $10,000 at gun­point af­ter ban­dits fol­lowed him home from the bank. Po­lice said the 68-year-old man of Del­hi Road ar­rived home around 4.25 pm af­ter de­posit­ing a large sum of mon­ey at the Gulf City branch of First Cit­i­zens Bank.

He had just parked his white Nis­san pan­el van in his yard and was about to place a black shoul­der strap bag con­tain­ing $10,000 and a cheque on the front seat when a man opened the front left pas­sen­ger door and snatched the bag from his hand. As he ran out of the yard, the vic­tim pur­sued him, but the sus­pect and an­oth­er man en­tered a sil­ver Toy­ota Aqua and drove off.

PC Guer­ra, along with of­fi­cers from the La Ro­maine Po­lice Post, in­ter­cept­ed the ve­hi­cle along Mos­qui­to Creek and ar­rest­ed the 20-year-old dri­ver of Diego Mar­tin. He was the lone oc­cu­pant in the ve­hi­cle at the time. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing. - sascha Wil­son
