A Co­corite woman was shot on Tues­day night while stand­ing on the road out­side her boyfriend’s house.

The 20-year-old vic­tim of Wa­ter­hole was at Cuth­bert Cir­cu­lar, Four Roads, Diego Mar­tin around 9.30 pm on Tues­day, when she saw a masked man walk­ing to­wards her with a gun in his hand.

Alarmed as he start­ed run­ning to­wards her shoot­ing, the woman re­port­ed­ly ran in­to the yard in a bid to es­cape death.

How­ev­er, whilst run­ning away, she was shot in the right ear as the sus­pect ran off.

A res­i­dent took the in­jured woman to the St James Med­ical Com­plex, where she was treat­ed and re­mained in sta­ble con­di­tion.

She was ex­pect­ed to be dis­charged yes­ter­day.

Ev­i­dence col­lect­ed at the scene in­clud­ed six 9 mm spent shell cas­ings.
