Panama-based carrier Copa Airlines will increase service to Port of Spain, Trinidad (POS) from June 5th, 2024. The airline will fly to and from POS ten times weekly, up from seven daily flights. These additional nonstop flights between Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City and Piarco International will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Copa Airlines will use a mixture of Boeing 737 aircraft on the route, with the largest, the Boeing 737 MAX 9, able to hold up to 174 passengers in a 2-class configuration.

According to a media release, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts, as well as the Airports Authority of Trinidad & Tobago (AATT), the Ministry of Works and Transport, and Tourism Trinidad Ltd have been working to increase airlift to Trinidad by way of strategic alliances with Copa Airlines and other airlines that serve Latin America. The ministry says this latest increase in service allows for more access to the Panama market and opportunities for increased leisure and trade links.

Copa Airlines, the flag carrier of Panama, has been ramping up its network expansion plans and now flies to 85 destinations in 32 countries across Central, South, North America, and the Caribbean. Less than a month ago, the airline announced plans to fly to three new destinations - Tulum, Mexico, Florianopolis, Brazil, and Raleigh-Durham, USA.

Despite finding out just three days earlier—on December 23—that I had breast cancer, I still got dressed and showed up on December 26, Boxing Day, for a birthday party. I didn’t go to escape the truth. I went to remind myself I was still here, still living, still me.
