Police are investigating the murder of a man in La Horquetta on Sunday night.
Officers were on patrol around 10.20 pm on Sunday, when they received a report of a man lying on the street along De Freitas Boulevard, near the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) station.
When they arrived, they found the body of a man with gunshot wounds to his head.
Crime Scene Investigators also visited the scene and found a spent .40 calibre shell, a live round of .40 calibre ammunition, and a deformed bullet. Police said the man is known only as “Shorto”.
Officers of the Region II Homicide Bureau are continuing investigations.
A Valencia couple was tied up and robbed by bandits who stormed their home early on Sunday morning.
Police said the 39-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were asleep at their Rosewood Drive home at around 2 am, when three armed bandits broke in.
The couple was tied up with wire as the man was pistol-whipped. The bandits stole $1,500 in cash and the keys to their white Nissan B15 before escaping in the stolen car.
The couple eventually freed themselves and were taken to the hospital by a neighbour.
Officers of the Eastern Division Task Force found the car abandoned on the Valencia Old Road and later towed it to the Valencia Police Post for further analysis. Investigators said the male homeowner is in stable condition and was awaiting the results of a CT scan yesterday.
Officers of the Valencia CID are continuing enquiries.
