Police are probing the thefts of four vehicles which were stolen in separate incidents within the North Eastern Division between Sunday and Monday night.
In the most recent incident, police said a 49-year-old man was coming out of his white Kia Sonnet in front of his Petit Bourg home around 10.30 pm when he was approached by two bandits, one of whom was armed.
The bandits took the keys and entered the vehicle, while the owner threw a heavy piece of metal at the car, breaking the back windscreen and raising an alarm.
One of the bandits then fired several shots at the man, missing him, before driving off.
Officers from the San Juan Police Station were called in.
Earlier on Monday, at 12.48 am, a 29-year-old man was sitting in his silver Nissan Y11 AD Wagon on Sixth Avenue, Barataria, when he noticed a man walking towards the car.
At the same time, he saw two other men approaching from behind. One of the three bandits pointed a gun at him and ordered him out of the car before they got in and drove off.
On Sunday night, a San Juan man reported to police that he had parked his white Nissan Qashqai in the yard of his apartment complex on Don Miguel Road, San Juan. Hours later, he awoke to find it missing.
Earlier that evening, around 7 pm, a driver parked his grey Toyota Fielder Wagon on Comprehensive Road, Upper Seventh Avenue, Malick. He discovered it was gone the next morning.
