Police officers have recovered some 11 kilograms of cured marijuana from a makeshift camp in the Balandra area, during an exercise over the weekend.

Official police reports state that the discovery was made during a joint exercise conducted on Sunday October 11th, 2020, which included officers from the Northern Division Task Force, Toco and Matelot Police Stations, the Canine Unit, and the Special Investigations Unit.

According to police, the team of officers was conducting searches in a forested area of Rampanalgas Road off the Toco Main Road, when on proceeding deeper into the area, they saw several persons fleeing from a camp.

Upon investigating the site, the officers discovered what the TTPS describes as “the hefty quantity of marijuana”.

Investigations continue.
