Police are using different technological tools to try and follow leads into the murder of off-duty Special Reserve Police (SRP) Corporal Charles Kublalsingh.
Kublalsingh, 56, was gunned down on Woodford Street, Curepe, on Saturday night.
The killer stole Kublalsingh’s Glock 45 pistol and his Toyota Fielder Wagon.
St Joseph police officers chased the gunman through Maracas, St Joseph, shortly after.
The gunman escaped, leaving Kublalsingh’s car behind on a street off La Caurita Road, St Joseph.
In an update on the investigation yesterday, senior police said officers of the Cyber and Social Media Unit were working closely with investigators from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region II in viewing security camera footage of Kublalsingh’s murder.
They are also using technology to try and triangulate cellphone activity in the area.
Police sources said this could be valuable in determining whether the killer was called to the area.
While no one has been arrested for the murder thus far, police said several suspects have been identified.
A motive for the murder is still unclear.
Kublalsingh was assigned to the San Juan Municipal Police but was on vacation leave at the time of the incident.
