Minister of Social Development and Family Services, Donna Cox, attended the Prizegiving for Vanity Fair’s first Graduation Competition.
The fabric store, commonly known for its exclusive pieces and accessories, has been in existence for the past 50 years.
During the month of July, graduates who purchased fabric from Vanity Fair were encouraged to enter the competition. A total of 22 contestants throughout T&T entered the competition, and the top four graduates were awarded with prizes from the management and staff of Vanity Fair and Valpark. The owner of the store, Sideeka Ojar, told those present that this competition was seen as an opportunity to bring local designers and graduates together, as the nation is full of talent and creativity.
In awe of the creativity demonstrated in the competition, Minister Cox expressed her satisfaction stating that she hopes the graduates continue to work hard and flourish in everything that they put their mind to. She also congratulated all winners and wished them the best in their future endeavours.
The winners of the Vanity Fair 2023 Graduation Competition were:
· 1st place- Azariah Dehere, Carapichaima East Secondary School
· 2nd place- Shakira Ali, St Francois Girls College and Tyler Gibson, La Romaine Secondary School
· Popularity vote for “Most likes”- Onella Cedeno, El Dorado West Secondary School
