The Ministry of Education says it will issue a statement later today, as to whether any adjustments will be made to school operations on Monday.
In a release, the Ministry says it continues to monitor the current weather situation facing the country, and has taken note of the current ORANGE Level alerts for riverine flooding and adverse weather.
The following is the official statement released by the Ministry earlier today…
“At 7:45am today, Sunday November 27, 2022, the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TT Met Service) upgraded its Adverse Weather Alert to Orange level with an Orange level Riverine Flood Alert also issued at 7:40am as river levels are currently near or above threshold values in some parts along the major and minor water courses with flooding ongoing in some areas.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) is working closely with the Ministries of Public Utilities, Rural Development and Local Government, and Works and Transport to monitor the weather situation throughout the day, and should it become necessary, will issue a further release, later today, regarding any adjustments to general school operations on Monday, November 28th, 2022.”
