The Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion says it will is­sue a state­ment lat­er to­day, as to whether any ad­just­ments will be made to school op­er­a­tions on Mon­day.

In a re­lease, the Min­istry says it con­tin­ues to mon­i­tor the cur­rent weath­er sit­u­a­tion fac­ing the coun­try, and has tak­en note of the cur­rent OR­ANGE Lev­el alerts for river­ine flood­ing and ad­verse weath­er.

The fol­low­ing is the of­fi­cial state­ment re­leased by the Min­istry ear­li­er to­day…

“At 7:45am to­day, Sun­day No­vem­ber 27, 2022, the Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice (TT Met Ser­vice) up­grad­ed its Ad­verse Weath­er Alert to Or­ange lev­el with an Or­ange lev­el River­ine Flood Alert al­so is­sued at 7:40am as riv­er lev­els are cur­rent­ly near or above thresh­old val­ues in some parts along the ma­jor and mi­nor wa­ter cours­es with flood­ing on­go­ing in some ar­eas.

The Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion (MoE) is work­ing close­ly with the Min­istries of Pub­lic Util­i­ties, Rur­al De­vel­op­ment and Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment, and Works and Trans­port to mon­i­tor the weath­er sit­u­a­tion through­out the day, and should it be­come nec­es­sary, will is­sue a fur­ther re­lease, lat­er to­day, re­gard­ing any ad­just­ments to gen­er­al school op­er­a­tions on Mon­day, No­vem­ber 28th, 2022.”
