Senior Superintendent Earl Elie has been officially appointed Assistant Commissioner of Police and will assume command of the Tobago Police Division on December 23.
He takes over the post previously held by ACP Oswain Subero, who proceeded on leave earlier this month. The division was temporarily led by ACP Michael Pierre during the transition.
Elie confirmed to Guardian Media yesterday that he has received formal notice of his promotion.
“I am prepared to serve at this higher level with professionalism and commitment,” he said.
He added that his priority will be strengthening operations, supporting officers, and deepening community engagement across Tobago.
Elie was appointed in September 2024 to head operations, replacing Snr Supt Rodhill Kirk in a reshuffle of the division’s top brass. At the time, he said the mandate when he arrived was to end the bloodshed after Tobago recorded 26 murders—its highest toll ever—in 2024. —EG
