Sascha Wil­son

A work­er was crushed to death at the Trinidad Ce­ment Ltd (TCL) plant in Mayo this morn­ing, po­lice said.

He has been iden­ti­fied as Garvin Ra­moutar. Ini­tial re­ports stat­ed that around 4 am he was pulled in­to a ma­chine and crushed.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are still on­go­ing in­to the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the in­ci­dent.

Fol­low­ing the in­ci­dent, op­er­a­tions at the plant had ground­ed to a halt and up to a short while ago, the po­lice were still at the scene.
