A family of four escaped without injury after a fire partially destroyed their home in Lowlands, Tobago, on Saturday afternoon.
Around 4:50 pm, the homeowner returned to find flames coming from a room on the northern side of the upstairs portion of the two-storey house. She alerted her husband and two children, who were inside at the time, and they all ran to safety.
Fire officers from the Scarborough station responded and extinguished the blaze. About half of the building was damaged.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
