The Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago says flight operations at the Piarco International Airport are running as normal today, even as the country remains under ORANGE Level alerts for Adverse Weather and Riverine Flooding.
In an official statement, the Authority urges the members of the public on their way to the airport to exercise caution, because of the flooding situation in surrounding communities.
“Due to prevailing adverse weather conditions, some roadways in communities surrounding the Piarco International Airport, have been affected by serious flooding,” the Airports Authority explains. “Persons en route to the Piarco International Airport are therefore encouraged to exercise caution.”
It added: “The Authority, however, wishes to reassure travellers and customers that normal business and flight operations continue at the Piarco International Airport.
