The Air­ports Au­thor­i­ty of Trinidad and To­ba­go says flight op­er­a­tions at the Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port are run­ning as nor­mal to­day, even as the coun­try re­mains un­der OR­ANGE Lev­el alerts for Ad­verse Weath­er and River­ine Flood­ing.

In an of­fi­cial state­ment, the Au­thor­i­ty urges the mem­bers of the pub­lic on their way to the air­port to ex­er­cise cau­tion, be­cause of the flood­ing sit­u­a­tion in sur­round­ing com­mu­ni­ties.

“Due to pre­vail­ing ad­verse weath­er con­di­tions, some road­ways in com­mu­ni­ties sur­round­ing the Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port, have been af­fect­ed by se­ri­ous flood­ing,” the Air­ports Au­thor­i­ty ex­plains.  “Per­sons en route to the Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port are there­fore en­cour­aged to ex­er­cise cau­tion.”

It added: “The Au­thor­i­ty, how­ev­er, wish­es to re­as­sure trav­ellers and cus­tomers that nor­mal busi­ness and flight op­er­a­tions con­tin­ue at the Pi­ar­co In­ter­na­tion­al Air­port.
