Hun­dreds of items have been do­nat­ed by Flow em­ploy­ees to sup­port can­cer pa­tients at the Cau­ra Pal­lia­tive Care Unit.

The com­pa­ny says the items were pre­sent­ed Oc­to­ber 30, 2024, by Flow’s Vice Pres­i­dent and Gen­er­al Man­ag­er Si­mone Mar­tin-Sul­gan, Sec­re­tary of the Trinidad and To­ba­go Pal­lia­tive Care So­ci­ety, Gillian Baksh.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­lease from Flow, the do­na­tion to the So­ci­ety was the cul­mi­na­tion of a se­ries of ac­tiv­i­ties en­gag­ing Flow em­ploy­ees, dur­ing their ob­ser­vance of Health and Well­ness Month in Oc­to­ber.

“Each Fri­day dur­ing the month of Oc­to­ber,” said Mar­tin-Sul­gan, “mem­bers of staff par­tic­i­pat­ed in our ‘Pink Fri­days’ [ini­tia­tive] where they dropped off an item or a care pack­age for a pa­tient at the Cau­ra Pal­lia­tive Care Unit, play­ing a cru­cial role in giv­ing back to the com­mu­ni­ty we serve.”

About do­nat­ing and sup­port­ing the pa­tients, Flow em­ploy­ee, Tine­sha Mon­segue said:

“It gives me joy to see oth­ers hap­py.”

The em­ploy­ees start­ed off their month-long ac­tiv­i­ties on Oc­to­ber 5, with 93 of them par­tic­i­pat­ing in the Sco­tia­bank Women Against Breast Can­cer (WABC) 5K.

“This marked the start of a month-long aware­ness cam­paign for us, to raise the pro­file of and build aware­ness of breast can­cer,” Mar­tin-Sul­gan ex­plained.

Among the ac­tiv­i­ties host­ed dur­ing the month were a Health & Well­ness ses­sion with Jamieson; pri­ma­ry health checks with health care pro­fes­sion­als of the North Cen­tral Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty; a Clean Eat­ing Work­shop with Kel­li Ann Thomas, Flow em­ploy­ee and cer­ti­fied nu­tri­tion­ist; and den­tal and vi­sion screen­ings with Icon­ic Den­tistry & Aes­thet­ics and Op­tometrist To­day.
