Po­lice of­fi­cers re­cov­ered one black Glock 17 pis­tol with a mod­i­fied se­lec­tor and mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 17 rounds 9 mm am­mu­ni­tion hid­den on top of a shed in Port-of-Spain on Wednes­day night.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, In­sp Branch, Sgt El­bourne, Cpl Williams and WPC Williams con­duct­ed sev­er­al strate­gic pa­trols be­tween the area of Nel­son and Dun­can Street apart­ment build­ings when at about 10.15 pm they re­ceived per­ti­nent in­for­ma­tion from two oth­er of­fi­cers who were on foot pa­trol in the said area that they were stand­ing near the area of Build­ing 45C Dun­can Street and ob­served the sil­hou­ette of a man who pro­ceed­ed to an area of a shed oblique­ly op­po­site the said build­ing 45C and placed some­thing un­der some sheets of gal­va­nize near the top of the shed.

One of the of­fi­cers went and checked the roof of the shed where he found and seized the weapon.

Po­lice said the se­r­i­al num­ber was filed off.
