To­ba­go po­lice have re­cov­ered a firearm and a quan­ti­ty of mar­i­jua­na fol­low­ing an ex­er­cise in Scar­bor­ough on Mon­day.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, a par­ty of of­fi­cers at­tached to the To­ba­go Di­vi­sion­al Task Force and K9-Unit went to an area in Mt St George and car­ried out an ex­ten­sive search. Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, 100 grammes of mar­i­jua­na, which was in two trans­par­ent plas­tic bags, was found and seized. The street val­ue has been es­ti­mat­ed at $5,000. No one was ar­rest­ed.

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands that the par­ty of of­fi­cers con­tin­ued en­quiries in the said dis­trict and con­duct­ed an­oth­er search where they found and seized one sil­ver and black Beretta pis­tol. No one was ar­rest­ed.

The ex­er­cise, which was co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr Supt Jef­fery George, was con­duct­ed be­tween the hours of 11.30 am and 2.30 pm.

The ex­er­cise was spear­head­ed by Sgt Stew­art and su­per­vised by Ag Sgt Her­nan­dez and Ag Cpls Bish­op and Moses.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.

This brings to four the num­ber of guns found and seized in To­ba­go for 2019.
