A 30-year-old Laventille man was killed on Thursday afternoon, when two men broke into his home and shot him.
Police reported that Shakeel Paul, 30, of Williams Street, was in his living room when the men entered at 5 pm. Police arrived at the scene shortly after and took Paul to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Police said Paul’s killers were also responsible for the shooting of two men at Holder Corner, Gloster Lodge Road, Belmont.
Police said Atiba Ledley, 41 and Roger Harewood, 58, both of Upper St Francois Valley Road, Belmont, were at a mechanic along Holder Corner when at 5.30 pm, a gunman approached the men and spoke briefly with Ledley before shooting him. The gunman then walked off and after a few seconds returned, saw Harewood running, and shot him in the back.
Police said the two shootings are linked to the murder of Amoa Howe, 50, a father of five who was killed outside his family’s Gloster Lodge Road, Belmont home on Tuesday morning. His funeral was yesterday.
