A 29-year-old Siparia woman died on Monday night after her car crashed off a bridge and plunged into the South Oropouche River in Debe.
Police said Kalisa Danclair, a sales representative at HADCO Ltd, died at the scene after emergency responders pulled her silver Toyota Axio from the water.
According to a report, Danclair was driving south along Debe Trace when, near Rahamut Trace opposite the Lord Shiva Mandir, her car hit a steel barrier on the western side of the bridge. The impact destroyed about ten feet of railing before the vehicle plunged into the river.
Fire Services, Hunters Search and Rescue, and nearby residents helped recover Danclair’s body from the wreck.
Police are still searching for her driver’s permit and insurance certificate. Investigations are continuing.
