Gunmen opened fire on the home of the son of murdered businessman Danny Guerra at Guy’s Trace, North Oropouche, on Saturday evening, leaving residents shocked and concerned.
No one was injured, but the house was riddled with bullets.
Residents said the property is located within a gated community with controlled access, requiring identification for entry. They questioned how the gunmen gained access, noting that the main gate is the only entry point. Neighbours are calling on police to question the security guard on duty.
Some residents said they are now living in fear following Guerra’s killing at his office in Vega de Oropouche and added that his family has been forced to limit their movements for safety.
One resident said tensions remain high and warned the situation could escalate further.
Guardian Media was unable to gain access to the gated community during a visit. Police investigations into the shooting are ongoing.
