A homeless man died after he was struck by a car at Powder Magazine, Cocorite, yesterday.
The incident occurred along the west-bound lane of the Audey Jeffers Highway around midday and caused a small traffic pile-up as motorists slowed to get a glimpse of the victim lying in the road.
Police said the victim had no fixed place of abode and was used to wandering in the area.
The driver of the car that struck him as he was running across the highway, stopped and attempted to render assistance along with other motorists.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene. - Anna-Lisa Paul
