Young persons 17-28 years, primarily from East Port of Spain, and other parts of Trinidad and Tobago, will now have an opportunity to learn about the world of work while honing of their entrepreneurial spirit, following the launch of the Dream-Chasers Apprenticeship and Mentorship Project (D-CAMP), from the Ministry of Sport and Community Development.
The internship programme was launched officially on Monday 11 July 2022, at the Belmont Community Centre, Jerningham Avenue, Belmont.
A release from the Ministry says over the next seven weeks, 100 Secondary- and Tertiary-level students will benefit from life-skills training, visioning and mapping, networking, practical occupational training and technical experience while building relationships with professionals in various fields.
Minister of Sport and Community Development, Shamfa Cudjoe MP, encouraged participants to take the opportunity seriously and make the best of the D-CAMP experience.
“The programme is not just about the stipend you will receive,” she told participants at the recent D-CAMP launch, “but about the skills you will obtain, the people that you are going to meet and the experiences that you are going to share.”
