IRO elects new executive for 2025–2026 term

The In­ter-Re­li­gious Or­ga­ni­za­tion (IRO) of Trinidad and To­ba­go has elect­ed a new ex­ec­u­tive to serve for the 2025–2026 term.

Elec­tions were held dur­ing the 51st An­nu­al Gen­er­al Meet­ing on Sat­ur­day 21st June at the AL­GA Build­ing, Gov­ern­ment Cam­pus Plaza, Port of Spain.

Dr El­lis Har­ri­son Bur­ris of the Ba­ha’i Faith has been elect­ed Pres­i­dent.

He is joined by Pan­dit Lloyd Mukram Sir­joo of the Trinidad Acad­e­my of Hin­duism as First Vice Pres­i­dent and Ms Vidya Ra­macha­la of the Arya Pra­tinid­hi Sab­ha as Sec­ond Vice Pres­i­dent.

The new Sec­re­tary is Ms In­di­ra Par­dasie of the Lime Head Road Cul­tur­al Cen­tre, with Imam Ah­mad Ho­sein of AS­JA serv­ing as As­sis­tant Sec­re­tary. Ba­ba Neal Ryan Rawl­ins of the Coun­cil of Or­isha El­ders has been ap­point­ed Trea­sur­er, while Pan­di­ta Re­na­ta De­vi Kunge­be­har­ry of the Shi­va Dharam Sab­ha takes up the role of Pub­lic Re­la­tions Of­fi­cer.

The elect­ed trustees are Canon Richard Ja­cob, Sis­ter Hem­la­ta Sanghi, and Abbess There­sa Williams.
