Trini­bad artiste Kalon­ji Arthur, who was shot out­side the Brix ho­tel in Cas­cade on Sep­tem­ber 2, is re­cov­er­ing in a pri­vate hos­pi­tal.

This is ac­cord­ing to his team at Ful­ly8 Recordz Ltd, who said the "Lone­ly Road" singer had com­plet­ed all his surg­eries and is tak­ing time to grieve and re­cov­er.

The To­ba­go-born artiste was shot sev­er­al times in his ve­hi­cle as he and his girl­friend Brid­get James, 24, were leav­ing the Brix Ho­tel.

They were cel­e­brat­ing James' birth­day. She died at the scene.

James was laid to rest on Sep­tem­ber 10 but Kalon­ji's team said the singer was un­able to at­tend the fu­ner­al.

They said he tuned in­to the live streams in­ter­mit­tent­ly when he could cope.

Ful­ly8 Recordz said while he is ex­pect­ed to phys­i­cal­ly re­cov­er in the com­ing months, they are main­ly con­cerned about the singer's men­tal state.

Po­lice are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions.
