A 42-year-old dri­ver was beat­en and stabbed to death by a group of men af­ter a mi­nor car ac­ci­dent in Pe­nal just af­ter mid­night. As Collin Forbes fell to the ground bleed­ing, the men be­lieved to Span­ish na­tion­als, es­caped in their car.

The in­ci­dent oc­curred around 12.10 am as Forbes was re­vers­ing his Toy­ota Corol­la from the com­pound of Big Ben Bar at Pe­nal Rock Road.

His car came in con­tact with a red car. An ar­gu­ment broke out with him and four Span­ish speak­ing men who be­gan throw­ing glass bot­tles at him. They then stabbed him sev­er­al times and es­caped in the red car.

The po­lice and EHS am­bu­lance re­spond­ed. Forbes of In­di­an Walk, Moru­ga, was tak­en to the who San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal but he died around 1.30 am.

Po­lice said ini­tial­ly they re­ceived no in­for­ma­tion about the make, mod­el and reg­is­tra­tion num­ber of the sus­pects' car, but in­quires are con­tin­u­ing.

Of­fi­cers of Pe­nal Po­lice Sta­tion and Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions vis­it­ed the scene. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
