Man arrested after allegedly hitting man with his car

Twen­ty-three-year-old Austin Paria was ar­rest­ed yes­ter­day for al­leged­ly knock­ing down and as­sault­ing a man on a road­way in Las Lo­mas. The fol­low­ing is a press re­lease from the TTPS:

AUSTIN PARIA, 23, was ar­rest­ed yes­ter­day af­ter he al­leged­ly knocked down and then as­sault­ed a man on a road­way in Las Lo­mas. Around 7:15 pm, a 27-year-old Las Lo­mas res­i­dent was wash­ing his car on the road in front of his home. He al­leged­ly ob­served a white AD wag­on slow­ly pro­ceed­ing along the road­way be­ing dri­ven by a man known to him.

He rec­og­nized the man as he had been in­volved in a court mat­ter in­volv­ing the man’s fam­i­ly mem­bers. The man al­leged­ly swerved the car which made con­tact with the 27-year-old, knock­ing him to the ground. The man then al­leged­ly ex­it­ed the ve­hi­cle with a piece of wood and hit the vic­tim on the left ear with it. He then es­caped.

The vic­tim was tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex where he is cur­rent­ly re­ceiv­ing med­ical treat­ment. Ag Cpl Mo­hammed along with oth­er of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to a house at Mc Clean Trace, Las Lo­mas #1, and ar­rest­ed the sus­pect. They al­so seized the piece of wood be­lieved to be used in the as­sault. PC Daniel con­tin­ued en­quiries and the sus­pect was charged to­day with ma­li­cious wound­ing.
