Police arrested one man, seized a quantity of narcotics and ammunition, and recovered a stolen vehicle during exercises on Friday in the Port-of-Spain and North Central Divisions.
The TTPS said as part of Operation Blue Line, officers of the North Central Division carried out a Drug Block Eradication exercise between the hours of 5 pm and 8 pm on November 10.
The team of officers from North Central Division Task Force Area West, North Central Special Operations Unit, Tunapuna Warrant Staff and K9 Unit proceeded to Balthazar Street at approximately 5:15 pm, where they received certain information.
A search was conducted on an abandoned dwelling house in the area, and a black plastic bag containing one large packet of dry processed marijuana, 21 smaller packets, also containing marijuana and five rounds of ammunition were found.
The narcotics, which weighed a combined 723 grams, and the ammunition were seized.
WPC Cordner is continuing enquiries into the find. In another exercise, officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force proceeded to Laventille Road, San Juan, having received information relative to a report of a stolen Silver Nissan Tiida motor vehicle, taken from the St. James district. The officers intercepted the Nissan Tiida vehicle, and the occupant, a 36-year-old from Lahoe Street, Laventille Road, San Juan was arrested. The suspect and the recovered vehicle were taken to the St. James Police Station.
