A 32-year-old man of Argyle, Tobago, is expected to answer to one count of assault occasioning bodily harm when he appears before a Scarborough Magistrate today.
The man was arrested on Tuesday after a report was made to police that a ten-year-old boy was physically assaulted.
WPC Procope-Myers, of the Tobago Child Protection Unit (CPU), investigated the report and allegations that the boy was dragged from his aunt’s home to his mother’s house and dealt several blows about the body.
The attack is alleged to have arisen out of an incident in which the boy ran away from his mother’s house to hide at his aunt’s house after being told by his mother to get ready for his Zoom class. The boy's grandparents intervened during the alleged assault.
The man was subsequently arrested and charged.
