Rel­a­tives of 19-year-old Justin Dean, whose body was dis­cov­ered in a bam­boo patch off the south­bound lane of the Solomon Ho­choy High­way in Freeport yes­ter­day, be­lieve he may have been a vic­tim of foul play.

The body was found around 12.30 pm near Nel­son Road by his broth­er.

Dean, who was a res­i­dent of Nel­son Road, had crossed both the north and south­bound lanes of the high­way to lime at a near­by bar.

Rel­a­tives said they be­came wor­ried when he did not re­turn home. Shanell Dean said her hus­band, who is the broth­er of the de­ceased, went with his par­ents to the Freeport Po­lice Sta­tion on Sun­day night to make a re­port when Justin did not re­turn. She said the fam­i­ly spent two hours in the sta­tion be­fore the po­lice took a state­ment.

She said she and Bran­don went in search of Justin and al­so asked peo­ple for CCTV footage. They then went to the High­way Roti Shop to seek video that might lead them to find the miss­ing youth.

She said yes­ter­day they were search­ing near­by drains when Bran­don dis­cov­ered the body.

Shanell said the body was found with both legs bent back­wards and blood ooz­ing from the groin area. She said it didn’t ap­pear that he was hit by a ve­hi­cle but that the body was placed there.

Shanell said, “He used to come back home, he didn’t in­ter­fere with peo­ple, we don’t know what it is to say.”

Freeport po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
