Po­lice are try­ing to iden­ti­fy a man who was found dead just off the La­dy Young Road, Mor­vant, on Tues­day af­ter­noon.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers re­ceived a re­port that a body was spot­ted in a grassy area about 21 feet off the road, be­hind a met­al crash bar­ri­cade.

Of­fi­cers went to the scene where they found the man, who was de­scribed as be­ing about six feet tall and brown-skinned in com­plex­ion.

The man was wear­ing a black three-quar­ter pants, a brown cam­ou­flage pat­terned t-shirt and a pair of box­ers with the word ‘Su­per­man’ print­ed on the waist.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said the man’s hands were tied with a piece of rope, a belt and a tie strap be­hind his back. His feet were al­so tied to­geth­er with a black strap. His face was cov­ered with a piece of white cloth.

Re­gion I Homi­cide In­ves­ti­ga­tors are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.

The man’s mur­der brought the mur­der count to 191 for the year thus far, com­pared to 286 for the same pe­ri­od last year.

Po­lice con­firmed that there have been two mur­ders for Ju­ly thus far, com­pared to four for the same pe­ri­od in 2024.
