Police are trying to identify a man who was found dead just off the Lady Young Road, Morvant, on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said officers received a report that a body was spotted in a grassy area about 21 feet off the road, behind a metal crash barricade.
Officers went to the scene where they found the man, who was described as being about six feet tall and brown-skinned in complexion.
The man was wearing a black three-quarter pants, a brown camouflage patterned t-shirt and a pair of boxers with the word ‘Superman’ printed on the waist.
Investigators said the man’s hands were tied with a piece of rope, a belt and a tie strap behind his back. His feet were also tied together with a black strap. His face was covered with a piece of white cloth.
Region I Homicide Investigators are continuing enquiries.
The man’s murder brought the murder count to 191 for the year thus far, compared to 286 for the same period last year.
Police confirmed that there have been two murders for July thus far, compared to four for the same period in 2024.
