Po­lice are prob­ing the mur­der of a man in Val­sayn on Sat­ur­day morn­ing.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers of the St Joseph Po­lice Dis­trict re­ceived a re­port of a shoot­ing on Bassie Street Ex­ten­sion, Spring Vil­lage, Val­sayn, around 10:35 am and went to the scene.

On reach­ing the area, of­fi­cers found the body of Akel Mod­este slumped be­hind the wheel of a yel­low Toy­ota Aqua.

Mod­este had sev­er­al gun­shot wounds to the head and body.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors were told that two pas­sen­gers were seen in the back­seat of the car and were lat­er seen run­ning away.

A sil­ver wag­on was al­so seen in the area which po­lice sus­pect was used to trans­port the sus­pects.

Po­lice said the ve­hi­cle be­longed to To­tal Con­ve­nience Man­age­ment (TCM) Road­side As­sis­tance.

In a state­ment, founder of the TCM Group, Kirk Waith lament­ed Mod­este's mur­der and de­scribed him as a ded­i­cat­ed em­ploy­ee.

"Akel will be fond­ly re­mem­bered for his bois­ter­ous pas­sion for cus­tomer ser­vice." He re­ferred to every client with whom he in­ter­faced as 'my client.' "Akel and his fam­i­ly re­main in our thoughts and prayers. He will be great­ly missed."

Waith not­ed that Mod­este was an em­ploy­ee for al­most ten years.

Po­lice from the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion II are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
