A Mor­vant man was gunned down near a fu­ner­al home in Laven­tille this af­ter­noon. Po­lice said Em­manuel Parks drove to a me­chan­ic shop on the East­ern Main Road, Suc­cess Vil­lage, Laven­tille, when he was con­front­ed by gun­men who shot him sev­er­al times killing him.

The gun­men got in a sil­ver Nis­san Ti­i­da be­fore dri­ving off. Parks was killed near the Simp­sons Fu­ner­al Home on the East­ern Main Road as a fu­ner­al was in progress.

Of­fi­cers of the In­ter Agency Task Force (IATF) were called to the scene with of­fi­cers of the Port of Spain Di­vi­sion. Sev­er­al rounds of ri­fle am­mu­ni­tion were found at the scene.
