Officers from a specialised unit of the T&T Police Service yesterday shot and killed a man who was out on bail for murder.
Reports said acting under State of Emergency powers, officers went to a house at Rampersad Trace, Vega de Oropouche, Sangre Grande, following information received about firearms there.
Police said upon arrival, the occupant opened fire on them and officers returned fire. The man was shot during the exchange.
He was later identified as David “Sours” Boodoo. Boodoo was taken to the Sangre Grande Hospital where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Police said a firearm was recovered at the scene.
Boodoo was reportedly on bail for a pending murder charge.
Investigations are ongoing.
