Al­most two months af­ter a shoot­ing in­ci­dent in­volv­ing the daugh­ter of a South busi­ness­man, a Mara­bel­la man has been charged. 

Kofi John­son, 30, was re­mand­ed in­to cus­tody af­ter ap­pear­ing be­fore Mas­ter Deli­cia Bethelmy, charged with shoot­ing with in­tent to cause griev­ous bod­i­ly harm on Wednes­day. 

The charge stemmed from an in­ci­dent on May 13, in which a car struck the rear of the woman's Range Rover, caus­ing her to stop along the South Trunk Road in La Ro­main.

The dri­ver then pulled along­side her ve­hi­cle and fired two bul­lets, which struck her ve­hi­cle.

The woman sped off and re­port­ed the in­ci­dent at the San Fer­nan­do Po­lice Sta­tion. 

The woman is the daugh­ter of the own­er of R&J Cell Tech. John­son was ar­rest­ed on Ju­ly 5 and charged two days lat­er.  He was rep­re­sent­ed by Kim­lee Williams.

The suf­fi­cien­cy hear­ing was fixed for Jan­u­ary 2026.

On May 27, an em­ploy­ee of R&J Tech, Saleem Ab­dool, 21, was shot and killed. Po­lice be­lieve he was not the tar­get of the at­tack.
