Almost two months after a shooting incident involving the daughter of a South businessman, a Marabella man has been charged.
Kofi Johnson, 30, was remanded into custody after appearing before Master Delicia Bethelmy, charged with shooting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on Wednesday.
The charge stemmed from an incident on May 13, in which a car struck the rear of the woman's Range Rover, causing her to stop along the South Trunk Road in La Romain.
The driver then pulled alongside her vehicle and fired two bullets, which struck her vehicle.
The woman sped off and reported the incident at the San Fernando Police Station.
The woman is the daughter of the owner of R&J Cell Tech. Johnson was arrested on July 5 and charged two days later. He was represented by Kimlee Williams.
The sufficiency hearing was fixed for January 2026.
On May 27, an employee of R&J Tech, Saleem Abdool, 21, was shot and killed. Police believe he was not the target of the attack.
