Minister Young discusses future gas projects with Repsol

Min­is­ter of En­er­gy and En­er­gy In­dus­tries Stu­art Young has met with Rep­sol ex­ec­u­tives to dis­cuss fu­ture gas de­vel­op­ment projects.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­lease from the Min­istry of En­er­gy and En­er­gy In­dus­tries, Min­is­ter Young was up­dat­ed on Rep­sol’s busi­ness ac­tiv­i­ties and giv­en some in­sight in­to prospec­tive projects.

The Min­istry said dis­cus­sions were held re­gard­ing lo­cal and re­gion­al gas de­vel­op­ment

and the pos­si­bil­i­ty of sup­ply­ing the Eu­ro­pean and oth­er Lo­cal and In­ter­na­tion­al mar­kets.

“Both par­ties ex­changed views guid­ed by their ex­per­tise on ap­proach­es and strate­gies which

would be mu­tu­al­ly ben­e­fi­cial in con­sid­er­a­tion of the cur­rent and fu­ture glob­al mar­ket,” it said.

The Min­istry added that Min­is­ter Young “looks for­ward to the con­tin­ued col­lab­o­ra­tion with Rep­sol in his com­mit­ment to pro­mote the long-term growth of the en­er­gy sec­tor for the ben­e­fit of our lo­cal econ­o­my on be­half of the Gov­ern­ment of Trinidad and To­ba­go.”

It said the par­ties agreed to work to­geth­er and ex­plore the de­vel­op­ment of sig­nif­i­cant fu­ture projects which would pro­vide sus­tain­able en­er­gy se­cu­ri­ty.
