Ministry: Cops probing Intruder Incident at Santa Rosa Govt Primary

The Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion has con­firmed that the Po­lice Ser­vice is in­ves­ti­gat­ing re­ports of an in­ci­dent on the com­pound of the San­ta Rosa Gov­ern­ment Pri­ma­ry School, in­volv­ing an in­trud­er who al­leged­ly at­tempt­ed to sex­u­al­ly as­sault sev­er­al stu­dents, on June 10, 2025.

In a state­ment, the Ed­u­ca­tion Min­istry as­sures that it is “co­op­er­at­ing ful­ly with law en­force­ment and oth­er key stake­hold­ers to sup­port the on­go­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion.”

“The mat­ter is cur­rent­ly un­der ac­tive in­ves­ti­ga­tion by the Trinidad and To­ba­go Po­lice Ser­vice,” the Min­istry stat­ed.

Ac­cord­ing to the Min­istry’s re­lease, pre­lim­i­nary in­for­ma­tion in­di­cates the in­di­vid­ual was seen tra­vers­ing mul­ti­ple ar­eas of the school build­ing. The prin­ci­pal and staff re­spond­ed prompt­ly, act­ing in ac­cor­dance with es­tab­lished safe­ty pro­ce­dures and alert­ing the rel­e­vant au­thor­i­ties.

The Min­istry says a re­view of the school’s ex­ist­ing se­cu­ri­ty pro­to­cols is be­ing un­der­tak­en.

“This step is part of our con­tin­ued com­mit­ment to en­sur­ing the safe­ty and well-be­ing of all stu­dents, staff, and vis­i­tors across the na­tion­al school sys­tem,” the Min­istry said.

It al­so is re­mind­ing all school ad­min­is­tra­tors and se­cu­ri­ty per­son­nel to re­main vig­i­lant and to en­sure that all safe­ty pro­to­cols are en­forced con­sis­tent­ly.
