The ASJA Education Board says that the Ministry of Education has completed an investigation into allegations of bullying at ASJA Girls’ College, San Fernando, and found no evidence to support the claims.

In November 2024, Guardian Media highlighted a parent’s accusations that her daughter was bullied by classmates and mistreated by staff after voicing certain concerns. The reports alleged that school officials shielded the accused bully because their parent was a teacher at the school.

ASJA Education Board chairman Rahimool Hosein said an independent investigation led by the Schools Supervisor III of the Victoria Education District, along with an internal review by the school’s administration, resulted in the Ministry of Education issuing correspondence on February 3, confirming that the allegations were unsubstantiated.

He said the ministry’s findings brought closure to the matter, confirming that due process was followed and no wrongdoing was found. —Otto Carrington
