The Min­istry of Health has re­leased the reg­u­la­tions which will gov­ern the sale of food and drinks by restau­rants and street ven­dors from to­mor­row.

In a press re­lease Sun­day, the min­istry al­so re­vealed the new reg­u­la­tions for out­door sport and ex­er­cise in pub­lic places, which will al­so be al­lowed to re­sume.

Reg­u­la­tion 3(1) of the Emer­gency Pow­ers Reg­u­la­tion will take ef­fect from to­mor­row (Ju­ly 19) and au­tho­ris­es the sale of food and drinks by restau­rants and street ven­dors, but on­ly by means of pick-up, curb­side pick-up and dri­ve-through un­til fur­ther no­tice.

Reg­u­la­tion 3(11) mean­while al­lows for restau­rants, cater­ers and those in the food in­dus­try to sup­ply and dis­trib­ute pre­pared meals to su­per­mar­kets, mar­kets, green­gro­cers, bak­eries, poul­try de­pots, re­tail mem­ber­ship dis­count stores, whole­sale stores for the pro­vi­sion of food, med­i­cine and oth­er ne­ces­si­ties, phar­ma­cies, con­ve­nience marts at gas sta­tions and for those or­der­ing catered food.

“Cus­tomers and op­er­a­tors of the above­men­tioned es­tab­lish­ments are re­mind­ed that in-house din­ing shall re­main strict­ly pro­hib­it­ed and that there shall be no con­sump­tion of any food or drink on the precincts, premis­es or road­side of said es­tab­lish­ments and that the sale of al­co­hol shall al­so re­main strict­ly pro­hib­it­ed,” the re­lease stat­ed.

The min­istry said cus­tomers and op­er­a­tors must al­so com­ply with oth­er re­quire­ments of the Emer­gency Pow­er Reg­u­la­tions.

As for pub­lic ex­er­cise and team sports, the min­istry said groups of no more than five peo­ple are al­lowed to par­tic­i­pate in out­door sports and ex­er­cise in pub­lic places.
