A day after being reported missing, San Fernando electrician Kisshur Katwaroo was found dead on the Gopaul Bypass Road in Princes Town.
Investigators said around 3.46 pm on Holy Thursday, PC Bacchus and Arjoon were on patrol duty when they got information that a body had been spotted.
When they arrived, they found Captain Vallence Rambharat from the Hunters’ Search and Rescue Team on the site. Rambharat told police they were searching for Katwaroo and found a white Toyota Hilux, registration number TCW 2539, parked facing east with locked doors, idling engine and air conditioning on the northern side of the roadway.
Cpl Cupid and members of the Court and Process Unit, along with first responders, accessed the vehicle by breaking the right side rear window. Upon inspection, they found Katwaroo wearing a maroon jersey and long black jeans, seated in the driver’s seat. His head was slumped down on his chest.
District Medical Officer Dr Balkissoon, arrived and pronounced him dead. There were no signs of violence on the body.
Katwaroo’s wife, Maria Jennings-Katwaroo, identified his body, which was taken to the San Fernando mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
