Security guard Valerina Judy Watson says she is hoping the relevant authorities will assist her in getting her injured daughter Tamar Watson to the United States for medial assistance.
Tamar Watson, 21, a national footballer, sustained two broken legs and a broken collar bone during Sunday's accident which claimed the life of boxing icon Jizelle Salandy, 21. Tamar underwent surgery in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Port-of-Spain General Hospital. She is recuperating in Ward 14 of the institution.
The elder Watson, in an interview said, "I am hoping they would help me to take Tamar to America for treatment. "They are far more advanced...They would have better technology to take care of her," she added. At the same time, she thanked the medical staff at the institution for taking care of her child. Watson said her daughter was never told of Salandy's tragic passing.
She said Tamar "figured it out on her own." In a previous interview, Watson had said her daughter's first words to her were "Mummy, where is Jizelle?" Watson said,"I told her to get well, focus on getting well and command your body to heal. "Nobody ever told Tamar...She sort of figured it out on her own," she said.
"She is bright...Tamar is an A-plus student."
