RHON­DOR DOWLAT-ROS­TANT

A self-em­ployed moth­er of four was chopped to death and her body found half naked at her home in Laven­tille, on Wednes­day morn­ing.

The vic­tim has been iden­ti­fied as 29-year-old Sher­ian Hug­gins, 29 of #52 Dan Kel­ly, Laven­tille.

Po­lice are now search­ing for the sus­pect, who is said to be a close male rel­a­tive of the vic­tim.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, at about 4 am, a close fe­male rel­a­tive of the sus­pect re­port­ed­ly told po­lice that she heard Hug­gins and the sus­pect in an ar­gu­ment.

Up­on check­ing, the fe­male rel­a­tive saw the sus­pect armed with a cut­lass and chop­ping Hug­gins about her body.

When she called out for help, po­lice said, the sus­pect ran away.

Po­lice of­fi­cers who were called to the scene found Hug­gins dead with mul­ti­ple chop wounds to the up­per tor­so and neck.

Po­lice said Hug­gins' body was clad on­ly in a mul­ti coloured top. The body was naked from the waist, down­wards.

A par­ty of of­fi­cers (in­clud­ing Snr of­fi­cers Ag/Sgt Lu­cas, Cpl De Sil­va and Ag/In­sp Maraj) vis­it­ed the scene, along with homi­cide of­fi­cers (in­clud­ing WPC Mol­lah, WPC Liv­er­pool, WPC Mor­gan Jobe and Ag/Cpl Pierre).
