The National Parent Teacher Association (NPTA) plans on meeting with the principal and the PTA President of the Belmont Secondary School.

This after the PTA President Shurlanda Malcolm last Wednesday claimed that she was denied the opportunity to bring greetings at the school’s graduation because of her attire.

She said this was the first time in nine years she was barred from speaking at a graduation and blamed the situation on a strained relationship between her and an official at the school.

In a press release the NPTA emphasised the importance of collaboration between PTA units and school principals and hopes this discourse can be dealt with amicably.

President Walter Stuart said they will also look into establishing a dress code for their members
